Creating & Sharing

Open Create, post Moments and Discussions, list items, start Communities and Events, build Compilations, choose where posts appear, and share into Looma from other apps.

Open Create

When your account can post (usually age-verified with posting allowed for your tier), you can create from:

  • The bottom navigation + button (opens the create sheet)
  • The side menu or navigation rail Create item (opens the create grid)

Create options include:

  • Moment
  • Discussion
  • Listing (verified adults with marketplace access only)
  • Community
  • Event
  • Compilation

If you do not see Create, finish age verification first. Unverified adults and Restricted profiles cannot post. See Account & Profile and Getting Started.

Create a Moment

Choose Moment to open Create Moment. Use Back, Next, and Post.

  1. Media - Pick Album, multiselect, or camera. You can also continue with no media. Empty state: No media selected.
  2. Caption - hint Write a caption. Optionally turn on Add as Glimpse.
  3. Location and placements - hint Add location. Under Posted to, tap Add and pick at least one place. Chips show like Primary · name.

You need at least one audience/placement before posting. Success message: Moment added successfully.

Glimpses

Short overview here. Full guide: Glimpses.

  • While creating a Moment, enable Add as Glimpse.
  • After posting, use Add Glimpse on the Moment action bar (activates a Glimpse for about 24 hours). Snackbars: Glimpse activated or Could not activate Glimpse.
  • Re-add older Moments from Profile → Memories (Re-add as Glimpse).
  • View Glimpses from the bottom nav Glimpses item when your feed access allows it (not for Supervised friends-only feeds).

Create a Discussion

Choose Discussion to open Create Discussion.

  1. Media (optional) - same album/camera pattern as Moments
  2. Information - Title (required) and Tell us more for the body
  3. Posted to - tap Add and choose at least one placement

Success: Discussion added successfully.

Create a Listing

Listing appears in Create only for verified adults with marketplace access. Opens Create Listing.

  1. Media - Pick Album / camera
  2. Information - Enter the item title and Tell us about your item
  3. Price, location, placements - price field with a $ prefix (Your item's price), Add location, then Posted to with at least one placement

Success: Post added successfully.

Create a Community

Choose Community for Create Community.

  1. Optional cover media (Pick Album)
  2. Information - Community Name (required, availability checked) and Community purpose
  3. Settings - Is Private?, join code if private (Enter the code to join the community), Add location, audience/placement, and Allow Compilation?

Success: Community added successfully.

Create an Event

Choose Event. The wizard walks through:

  1. Create Event - cover image (Pick Album, No cover selected)
  2. Basics & Mode - Title, optional short description, Online event switch with Join URL, or offline Location / Venue (optional)
  3. Schedule & Publishing - start/end, All day, Status (Published / Draft), Price, optional external link and access code
  4. Audience & Itinerary - itinerary Schedule items plus Posted to placements (at least one required)

Success: Event created. For RSVP, calendar export, attendees, and org/community event lists, see Events.

Create a Compilation

Choose Compilation to open New Compilation.

  • Default title Untitled Compilation; edit the Title field
  • Aspect: 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1
  • Export: Video or PowerPoint
  • Selected media - tap Add media (empty state: No media yet. Tap “Add media”.)
  • Save with the Create action in the app bar

Posted to: audiences and placements

Most create flows end with Posted to. Tap Add to choose where the post appears (networks, communities, organizations, and other placement types available to you). Joining and browsing Organizations: Organizations.

  • Sheet title: Posted to
  • Search/pick with Choose placement…
  • Info icon: Tap to learn more about placements opens the posting FAQ sheet
  • You must select at least one placement before posting

In Settings → Placement (when available), you can set defaults such as use my default placement or use my last placement. See the Settings guide.

The in-app posting FAQ explains audience options and visibility. Open it from the placement picker info icon while creating.

Share into Looma from other apps

When you share photos, files, or text to Looma from another app, Looma opens Share to Looma.

  1. Review the shared text and Attachments
  2. Pick a Destination: Moments, Discussions, or Listings
  3. Tap Continue to jump into that create flow with content prefilled (often starting on the caption/details step when media is present)

Listing as a share destination may appear even when Listing is hidden from the in-app Create menu for your tier. Marketplace posting still requires adult marketplace access to complete a listing.

What you can create by age tier

  • Restricted / blocked: Create hidden
  • Adult unverified: Create hidden until age verification
  • Supervised / Independent Minor (verified): Moment, Discussion, Community, Event, Compilation. No Listing.
  • Adult verified: all create types, including Listing
