Open Settings
Open the side menu, then tap the gear icon in the drawer header (next to Home and Sign out). The screen title is Settings.
Locked tiles often show Enforced by your safety level with a lock icon. Your age tier and verification status decide what you can change.
General
- Dark Mode - bottom sheet: On, Off, or Use device settings
- Language - Use system language, or pick a supported language (English, Français, Español, and many more)
- Enable Biometric Login - Face ID / fingerprint when your tier allows biometrics (hidden for Restricted and for unverified adults)
- Personalized Ads - adults only; switch Allow personalized ads (iOS may also ask for tracking permission)
- Default Feed - choose Friends Feed (Loomies) and, when allowed, Network Feed (Global). Hidden if you have no feed access. Supervised users stay on friends feed only.
Backup and Restore
Tap Manage Backups to open Backup Settings (locked for Restricted). Full walkthrough: Backup & Data.
Quick summary: set a backup password (not recoverable), connect Google Drive for reinstall protection, enable automatic backup, and use Run backup now / Restore from backup as needed. Message Purge is separate and does not replace backup.
Communication
- Messaging - opens Messaging & conversations when chat is available to you
- Reset Push Notifications - regenerates your push token. Subtitle: Fix notifications if they stopped working
Messaging & conversations
- Enable Decrypted Notifications - optional previews while the app is open (by default, notification content stays private)
- Conversation Sync - sync now and see last sync time
- Clean Messages - wipe the local message database on this device (does not delete server messages). Confirm before running.
Message Purge
Opens Message Purge Settings (marked as a Preview Feature). Hidden for Supervised. Locked for Restricted.
- See last / next purge info
- Enable Automatic Purge and choose frequency (Daily / Weekly / Monthly)
- Set purge scope: Messages Older Than, All Messages, or Read Messages Only
- When using Messages Older Than, choose how old: 1 Week, 1 Month, 3 Months, 6 Months, or 1 Year
- Optionally Exclude Unread Messages
- Run Purge Now for a manual purge
- Open Purge History
Networks
Select networks opens the network picker. Choose the interest networks that shape discovery, then tap Save.
Posting placements
Placement appears when precise location is available (typically verified adults). In the sheet you can set placement mode (default vs last), set a default placement, use your last placement, or clear the last one.
Wellbeing
- Health Reminder - enable reminders and set session / daily limit minutes. Locked when health breaks are enforced for your tier (typical for minors).
- Mindful Mode - switches for Mindful Mode Enabled, Disable Comments, and Hide Likes. Locked for Restricted and Supervised.
- Health Resources - Health Resources Enabled. Same lock rules as Mindful Mode.
- Inspiration - Quotes Enabled. Available to everyone.
Safeguards
- Safety Status - shows your current safety level and how it was set (or via main profile on a sub-profile). Adults on a main profile can refresh with Re-verify Age.
- Daily Scroll Cap - opens an explainer for your daily cap on feed and content browsing. Caps come from your safety level and are not edited here.
- Safety & Compliance Audit - read-only view of active protections (biometric login, community chat, calls, marketplace, precise location, health break enforcement, Looma Gives NFC, and more), plus whether you are OS verified or self-declared.
- Two-factor authentication / Enable two-factor authentication - adults only. Set up an authenticator (QR + key), enable with a 6-digit code, save recovery codes, or disable with password + TOTP.
- Create Profile PIN / Reset Profile PIN - adults only. 6-digit Security PIN used when switching into supervised profiles and managing linked profiles.

At the bottom of Settings, Profile jumps to your Profile page. See the Account & Profile guide for everything there.
What changes by age tier
- Restricted: biometrics hidden; backups and purge locked; no messaging tile; mindful/health resources locked; health reminder locked
- Supervised: friends feed only; purge section hidden; mindful/health resources locked; health reminder locked
- Independent Minor: broader feed options; messaging when allowed; mindful mode editable; no ads / 2FA / Profile PIN / placements
- Adult (unverified): many adult tiles appear, but chat, biometrics, placements, and network feed stay limited until age verification
- Adult (verified): full Settings surface, including ads, placements, messaging, 2FA, and Profile PIN
