Spaces

A map-based presence layer for verified adults. Visit The Commons, ignite temporary spaces, move through hubs, chat by zone, and use Go Live or whiteboard tools.

Preview Feature. Spaces shows a Preview Feature badge in the app. It is separate from Events, Organizations, and regular Messaging. Spaces are temporary rooms on a map, not persistent community feeds.

Who can open Spaces

Drawer and rail Spaces appear for verified adults only. Minors and unverified adults do not get this entry. If a non-adult somehow opens a Spaces URL, the app redirects home.

Open Spaces

  1. Open the side menu or navigation rail
  2. Tap Spaces

You may also see a scroll-cap suggestion like Check your Spaces. Spaces activity does not count toward the daily feed scroll cap (listed under Spaces & Community in Daily Scroll Cap help).

Public Space Warning

The first time you enter the Spatial Lobby, Looma shows Public Space Warning:

The Spatial Lobby is a public area. Your profile name and avatar will be visible to everyone in this space, even if your account is set to private.

Choose Go Back or I Understand & Accept.

Lobby map

App bar title: Spaces. Useful tooltips:

  • Space directory - search spaces (Search spaces...), see mood and {n} online
  • How spaces work - rules and navigation tips
  • Ignite new space / Cancel ignite - plant a new space on the map

The Commons

The Commons sits at the center of the map with subtitle Always open. It stays available even when other spaces fade.

Empty map

If the map feels empty (aside from The Commons), you may see:

  • Title: The map is quiet
  • Body: Be the first to ignite a space, or visit The Commons at the center.
  • CTA: Ignite a Space

How spaces work

Open How spaces work from the lobby for these ideas:

  • Ephemeral Nature - Spaces are temporary. If left empty for 6 hours, they fade from the map.
  • Hub Zones - rooms inside a Space, each with its own proximity radius and chat history.
  • Moving Around - drag on the floor plan to move your avatar.
  • Entering a Hub - drag into a hub's colored zone and release to step in.
  • Leaving a Hub - use the doorway (EXIT HUB) to return to the space lobby.
  • How to Ignite - toggle the + control and tap an empty area. On the map this plants a Space; inside a Space it plants a Hub.

Ignite a new space

  1. Tap Ignite new space (chip: Tap map to ignite space).
  2. Tap an empty spot on the map.
  3. Fill IGNITE NEW SPACE: name (Space Name...), Space Color, Mood (chill, hype, focused, chaotic), and audience placement (Choose placement…).
  4. Tap Ignite & Enter.

Common messages: Enter a space name to ignite. / Select an audience for your space. / That name is already glowing on the map.

Inside a space

You enter a floor plan with hubs. First visit shows coach marks:

  1. Move Your Avatar - drag to move around.
  2. Enter a Hub - drag into a colored zone to connect.
  3. Zone-Aware Chat - in the Lobby you hear all hubs; inside a hub, chat is scoped to that room.

Coach actions: Skip, Next, Got it.

Status and chat

  • Lobby (Listening to all Hubs)
  • Entering {HubName}... then Connected to {HubName}
  • Lobby input: Lobby (listening...)
  • Hub input: Message the Hub...
  • Empty chat: No messages yet. Start the conversation!

Use Hub directory to search hubs (Search hubs in this space..., {n} active). Live hubs can show a LIVE badge.

Design mode (create hubs)

If you can design the space, open Design mode (exit with Exit design mode). Chip: Tap the floor to place a new hub. Sheet: Create New Hub, name field Hub Name, CTA Create Hub.

Go Live and Whiteboard

Inside a hub, the media dock can offer:

  • Creators: Go Live / End Live, Whiteboard / Exit Board
  • Viewers: Join Live / Leave Live, Join Board / Exit Board
  • Also: Fullscreen, Watching, Host, status like CONNECTING / CONNECTED / STREAMING
