Networks shape what you can see and interact with. Communities, events, and public posts live inside that network scope.
Your selected networks are not just interests. They define the world you see in Looma.
You can only see and interact with content and features that belong to your networks. That includes public profile posts, communities, and events placed in those networks.
Example
User A is in the Sports network. User B is in Health and Vegan.
When you post, the Posted to placements you choose (Network, Community, Organization, and related options) decide where that post becomes visible. Posts placed in a Community or Organization are for that group, not automatically for everyone in the whole Network. Posts placed to a Network are for people in that network.
Friends / following feeds are separate from this public network scope. People you follow can still show up in Loomies according to your safety tier and follow relationships.
After the age step, Looma asks you to Choose your networks. Helper text: Tap to select, or hold to learn more about each network. You must select at least one network to continue.
Long-press a network to preview its description and member count, then Join or Close.
Settings → Networks → Select networks → pick networks → Save. You should see Networks saved.
Adding or removing networks changes what public network-scoped content, communities, and events you can reach going forward.
Depending on your tier, Home can include Discussions, Loomies (following), and a Networks / Global Network area for browsing networks. You can also set Default Feed in Settings when your feed access allows it (Friends Feed (Loomies) or Network Feed (Global)).
From the side menu, tap Communities (available for adult, independent minor, and supervised profiles). The hub title is Communities.
Tabs (when your tier allows them):
Restricted and supervised profiles typically see Joined only. Restricted Home can also center on joined communities.
Some curated communities follow special join rules for supervised profiles. They may not show a normal Leave control on list cards.
When you can post, open Create → Community for Create Community.
Success: Community added successfully.
Because communities live in network scope, people outside those networks generally will not discover or interact with that community the same way members of the network can.
Community detail can include:
Owners can edit title, description, and Allow Compilation from edit/About flows.
From the drawer, Organizations is available to verified adults and independent minors. Full steps for join, leave, detail tabs, Bulletins, and the More sheet are in the Organizations guide.
Organizations sit in the same placement hierarchy as networks and communities: a Network can include Organizations and Communities; posts placed to an Organization stay with that group. Shop / Fundraising / Donation checkout: Marketplace.
Drawer Explore (verified adult / independent minor) is a discovery hub with tabs for Moments, Discussions, Listings, Organizations, and Communities. What you can usefully discover still follows your network membership and safety tier.
When you create a Moment, Discussion, Listing, Event, or similar, use Posted to → Add to choose placements. You can join a network from the placement picker if needed. Details: Creating & Sharing.
If something is missing from Discover, check your selected networks in Settings first. Help: help@looma.social.
