How Looma protects people by age tier, how to verify, report, and block, and how wellbeing tools, scroll caps, and mental health resources work in the app.
For theme, backup, messaging privacy toggles, and purge tools, see the Settings guide. For Profile ACCOUNT tools, see Account & Profile.
For Looma’s broader child-safety architecture and “what we never do,” read How Looma Protects Kids. This guide focuses on what you can do and see inside the app.
Primary Looma accounts are for adults (18+). Younger users usually appear as linked profiles created by a verified adult. Your active level is shown in Settings → Safeguards → Safety Status as Current Level plus a source (for example platform, card, vouch, or via main profile on a sub-profile).
Exact age-band labels vary slightly across Safeguards copy, Create Profile, and the public safety page. What matters day to day is the capability set of your level:
Settings → Safeguards info text also summarizes tiers as Adult (18+), Independent Minor (16–17), Supervised (13–15), and Restricted (<13). Create Profile uses Restricted (12–13), Supervised (14–15), Independent Minor (16–17). If bands look slightly different in one screen versus another, trust the protections you see for your active profile, and read Child Safety for the full safety story.
These are different on purpose.
In-app age info links out to the full safety approach and safety specification. Details of Profile tiles: Account & Profile.
Verified adults on the main profile can open Linked Profiles to manage safety levels, promote, or remove profiles. Creating additional profiles is limited to verified adults.
Settings → Safeguards → Create Profile PIN / Reset Profile PIN sets the 6-digit Security PIN used for switching into supervised profiles and for many linked-profile changes.
When quiet hours lock the app, you may see Looma is locked with Unlocks at a time, plus options such as Switch to the main profile or Logout.
Settings → Safeguards → Daily Scroll Cap opens an explainer. The subtitle shows your current cap and notes it applies to feed & content browsing only.
The page describes what counts (feed browsing, profile browsing) and what does not (messaging and calls, spaces and community time, Looma Gives). Caps reset at midnight and cannot be turned off from this screen. Your active tier sets the limit you experience.
Settings → Wellbeing → Health Reminder. Adults can adjust session interval, cooldown, and daily tier limits. For younger tiers this is often locked with Enforced by your safety level.
Profile → Usage (My Looma Usage) shows your usage chart.
Settings → Wellbeing (info title Mindful Experience):
In-app title: Mental Health Resources. Quick actions include Call 9-8-8 (CA/US), Text 9-8-8 (US), and Find local help, plus sections such as Global Help, Canada, United States, and Self-Care (for example Find a Helpline and regional crisis lines).
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Looma’s resources are support links, not a crisis hotline inside the app itself.
Use Flag / Flag post for review (or Report where shown). The sheet asks What is happening? with options such as Hate Speech, Spam, Harassment, Offensive Content, Misinformation, AI Content, and Other. Add comments if needed, then Submit.
Long-press a message → Report → Submit Report. Categories include Hate Speech, Harassment, Sexual Content, Threats Violence, Self Harm, Spam Scam, Doxxing, Ai Bot Behavior, and Other. Success copy: Report submitted. Thank you for keeping Looma safe.
There is not a separate “Report profile” sheet today. For harmful accounts, use content/message reports and Block, and email safety@looma.social for urgent cases. Child-safety contact on the public site: childsafety@looma.social.
Settings → Safeguards → Safety & Compliance Audit is a read-only view of active protections, including Biometric Login, Community Chat, Voice & Video Calls, Marketplace Access, Precise Location, Health Break Enforcement, and Looma Gives (NFC). The header may show OS VERIFIED or SELF-DECLARED depending on how your age signal was established.
Adults can enable Two-factor authentication (recommended for payouts) and manage Create Profile PIN / Reset Profile PIN under Safeguards. Setup details are in the Settings guide.
Settings → Policies opens:
Read the full documents on looma.social/legal.html. Child Safety Standards and related trust materials are also linked from Looma’s public site.
Adults can Pause account (hide profile and posts; stop messages and notifications) or Delete account (scheduled permanent deletion with password confirmation). Details: Account & Profile.
If something you try to post does not meet Looma’s rules, you may see a moderation dialog asking you to reword the content, with reasons listed. This is separate from user reports.
